1978-1982: Got Bachelor Degree in geology in the Department of Geology in Northwest University in Xi’an, Shaanxi.

1982-1985: Got Master Degree in paleontology and stratigraphy in the Department of Geology in Northwest University in Xi’an, Shaanxi.

1985-1989: Got the Doctoral Degree in paleontology in the Department of Marine Geology in Tongji University in Shanghai.

1998: Visiting scholar at the Centre de Paléontologie stratigraphique et Paléoécologie, Université Claude Bernard - Lyon 1.

1999: Institute de Paléontologie Humaine, MNHN (Paris), postdoctoral fellowship

Quaternary mammalian fossils from prehistoric sites: their evolution and paleoenvironmental implications, mainly focusing on pachyderms; relationships between humans and the mammalian faunas.
